The quilt was presented at 4:40pm in room 608 at the Pratt SILS Annual Showcase on Tuesday, May 8 2012. There were about 25 individuals in attendance, and the quilt was very well received; many participants stepped up to the front of the room to examine the object up close and take pictures. Deimosa Webber-Bey explained the process behind constructing the quilt and the meaning behind each design decision. Participants asked questions about how information was printed on to the fabric, and the process video was shown.
The quilt was shown at the Empire Quilters meeting on Saturday May 12, 2012 during the Show & Tell portion of the meeting. There were 200+ guild members in attendance, (including Maggi Gordon) and the quilt was very popular. Many quilters came up to the front to examine the quilt, take pictures, and ask questions directly after the presentation.
The quilt was shown on Monday May 14, 2012 at a meeting of the Rochdale Quilters. The quilt was enjoyed by all, and members were particularly impressed with the feathered star and the tiny 4″ Birds Nest and Whirligig blocks.
